Everyone's In Morocco

You'd have thought that the invite to this Moroccan gig said everyone had to wear black because it was like 'boredom parade'. These lot should have just stayed home instead of strictly wearing black. Especially Salma Hayek, she just broke my heart. Exactly what is she wearing? She seems to be morphing into Angelina Jolie as her style seems to get more boring since she got married.
Well well well, it's my lover Adrien Brody. He cut his hair and looks pretty darn good as well...
...black as expected from 'Ms Boring' Jennifer Aniston
I still can't believe that Miranda Kerr's dress is actually by Burberry. Seriously; it looks very uninspiring. Orlando Bloom looks yummy as per usual ^_'
It was up to Gwyneth Paltrow to bring some life and lusciousness to the red carpet from her dress to her beautiful pink lipstick. I sooo wish i could actually pull off that lip colour.

What Do You Think?

I'm not too sure if this ensemble is actually appropriate for the premiere of a movie....

Dark And Sweet

I love how in the space of a few hours, Demi Lovato goes from dark and rock chic to candy sweet. In both pictures, she's managed to actually stick to a very limited pallette in both ensembles and manages to still look good. You'd have thought that with all the pale shades she's wearing below she'd look washed out, but the black hair and black nails certainly add a nice punch to the soft pallette.

Suit Up In Red

For all you Twilight fans, during the Twilight saga press conference for the new movie 'New Moon' everyone was interested in how much muscle Taylor Lautner had packed on and if Robert Pattison and Kristen Stewart were dating. I was more interested in the fashion parade Ashley Greene was giving us. Among all the cast members making their rounds for the press, Ashley definitely stood out and made the most effort even if she wasn't necessarily the biggest star in the movie franchise. I love how the masculine nature of the suit has been toned down with a punch of red. Never has a brunette looked so sexy and bourgeois since Penelope Cruz and Salma Hayek.

Taking The Plunge...

So, i finally took the plunge and registered to become a Mary Kay consultant and on Wednesday, i got a big parcel of evertyhing that i would need to begin my journey as a Mary Kay independent consultant. There are sample makeup swatches and also skincare to try on; included are several handbooks detailing all the information i would need to make a smooth transition into the world of a skincare, bodycare and makeup guru. Today i completed the 'Module 1' of the essential steps to real success [ESRS] program and i've got 5 more modules to do over the summer.

What it all means is that i can sell products to customers on an individual basis and i also control the amount of time that i want to spend working. But to be able to work, i would need to have a customer base so i spent the better part of today walking around the mall like a lost geese looking for people that might be interested in Mary Kay products. The best way to try out the products is to host a skincare/ colour/ christmas party where i can meet a couple of girls and give them a pampering session. This allows them to try the products and also choose whatever colours and products that they feel most comfortable with before purchasing it. Of course, there is no obligation for you to actually purchase it if you're not interested but this is usually the first stage in the process especially for those that are new to the Mary Kay products. The pampering sessions can also be done on a one-to-one basis for people who aren't really keen on crowds or just want a personal experience.

The great thing about this method of selling is that you don't need to worry about the shops being closed at a particular time as everything is usually arranged to suit your time schedule. So, if you feel like you might be interested in organising a pampering party for you and your friends or family members, or just want a one-on-one experience please feel free to check out the Mary Kay products here and contact me to arrange a session if you live in the Wollongong area. Please be aware that i do not have samples of ALL the Mary Kay products as i only just started this week but i do have the Timewise for the face and sample colours of all the makeup for you to try.

Now all i need is for someone to buy this for me for christmas and also throw in the ladder print leggings to just make me feel all giddy inside. Anyone willing to show me some lurv??? *winks*

More Legs For Days

Today seems to be a bit of a leg day as you can see. I'm loving the tights that both ladies have on. I'm not too keen on what's going on upstairs though; and Selena's boots are totally drool-worthy. Anyone know where i can get myself a similar pair?

Legging It

Look what i dug up from ASOS; black but not as typical as you would expect from me ^_^. The leggings above is the Ladder Print Leggings retailing for £18. A very good replacement for the typical black leggings i'd sport in the Autumn/ Winter period. Unfortunately for me, it's summer here and we're being peltered with the typical heat wave.
This Lace Leggings is going for £18. I think this is a pretty good substitute for the summer period as it is much thinner than the regular leggings and since it is lace it means it is perforated and has room for some air to go through and let your skin breathe.

I Feel Like...

...Mademoiselle Coco just looking at this Knitted Crochet Tinsel Jacket from Topshop. You know that if Mademoiselle Coco was still alive she'd definitely approve of it and if Karl Lagerfield decided not to be a snob he'd also say that it looked very chic and 'Chanely'. This cute little jacket is machine washable and would set you back a mere £70 which is chump change for something that looks so chic and parisian. Do you think Audrey Hepburn would be happy to wear this?

The Cost of Healthcare

So, i finally got round to getting my blood test done about 2 weeks ago and found out that my hormone levels had increased about 50% more than they were in 2008 [and they were already abnormally high for a female at that time anyway]. Now i have to get my pelvic ultrasound scan done and then see the endocrinologist. But of course, none of these are coming for free as it is costing me about $633.80. I don't find spending this amount of money in 3 doctor visits funny at all considering that i don't actually get anything reimbursed back to me by my insurer. Seriously, Australia needs to step up their game when it comes to healthcare because if i remember correctly, in England endocrinology visits are covered in your insurance.

Customised Perfume...

...or kind of. Allow me to introduce to you 'Le Labo', a perfume brand created by two guys living in New York in a slightly different manner from what you'd usually expect from perfumes. As we all know, the majority of perfumes are mass produced mainly using machines. There are a rare handful of perfume makers that actually custom make perfumes specially to suit your needs and personality. I remember hearing about one situated in London where the elites go to have perfumes made for them. It's kind of like going to Marc Jacobs show room and having him sketch and make a dress exclusively for you. But as we all know, the majority of us can't afford this kind of luxury...well, not at the moment anyway.
This is where the 'Le Labo' perfumes come in. They are all blended by hand when ordered as opposed to pre-blended. The bottle labels can be customised when ordering as you get to have your name printed on it and also a short note of 24-characters included in the label as seen above. This kind of reminds me of Apple iPods and iTouch where you get to write notes. These perfumes can only be ordered from Mecca Cosmetica. But don't you think the bottles kind of look ugly and medicinal?

Seein' Blue

When i saw this picture of Ashley Tisdale, all i could think of was 'almost puke cute' and Paris Hilton. Yes, if you know me in person then you'd definitely know that i hate puke-cute looking ensembles. Ashley manages to stop this from looking sickly sweet with the addition of the black tights and hat. The tights definitely help in keeping her decency so you could easily try this ensemble for winter and even summer by just substituting the tights for thin leggings like this lace one.

Diamonds: A Girl's Best Friend

To be honest, i cannot begin to explain to you why i decided to go online to Tiffany & Co. this morning to look for diamond engagement rings or why i decided that i wanted to google pictures of coloured diamond engagement rings. It just happened and i don't really have any logical explanation for it whatsoever. Ok, so i spent a couple of minutes browsing the Tiffany website and there were some ok baubles but only this one impressed me much!!! So i guess i don't have such an expensive taste then huh?

Studded Leggings Anyone?

Believe it or not, it's not officially summer in Australia because if you're going by the books, summer starts on the 1st of December. But that doesn't stop it feeling as if i'm in a giant sauna that happens to be free and has flies roaming around you the minute they sniff your perfume. Irrespective of how many times i'm told that i've got really nice legs - thanks y'all - i'm still uncomfortable at showing my legs and the thought of having to shave up to my thighs just annoys me the more. So last year summer, i actually wore jeans and leggings all through eventhough it was 40 degrees and very humid in Queensland. This year, i planned on adopting a more sensible approach to my summer gear until i stumbled upon these Warehouse studded leggings. How cool are they? On closer inspection, i noticed that they look pretty thick so i'm thinking it might be a good investment for Autumn/Winter next year as the winter isn't as cold as the typical British Autumn. If you're interested, these would set you back £55.
Moving on to more summer-friendly bottoms, i'm thinking boyfriend jeans!!! Versatile and loose to enable easy circulation of air around the legs especially since it's going to be very hot here. But i definitely wouldn't be wearing them in the same manner as the boys.....oh no, that is a huge no no for me this year. I'm more interested in rocking them a la Katie Holmes last year. But it is very easy to go oh-so wrong with this, so to stop you looking like you're suffering from identity issues or you're a tomboy you'll need to balance your proportions pretty well. You could choose to go for the really baggy boyfriend jeans and roll them up at the ankle but i would suggest that you always team it with something fitting on top and some heels so that way you look relaxed-chic. But if you're anything like me then you probably have no interest wearing heels during the day nor are you keen on wearing something fitted all the time - actually i rarely do. So in this case, it's always better to opt for a slimmer fitted boyfriend jeans especially ones that are slightly tapered at the ankles. This is where Levi's Ripped 501 True Boyfriend Jeans come in play; they've got just the right amount of bagginess in them but they're still slim enough to wear with a loose t-shirt and flip flops with perfectly manicured toes. These cost £95 but if you're in Australia i believe you can get them from General Pants Co. as well. It comes in a darker rinse for £75. The best part of this is that i can easily dress them up at night with heels and a slinkier top without feeling any bit inappropriate. For those who might be interested, Warehouse has a slouchy boyfriend jeans on sale for £23 here.

Tights Lovin'

I'm usually not one to wear patterned tights or leggings as i tend to get terribly shy but i love this checkered tights Blake Lively is spotting. The colours are pretty cool and toned down so it would make a fun and interesting addition to a winter wardrobe.

Very Slow Day

Today seems to be one of those days when it is extremely difficult for me to get motivated to actually study. I've been forcing myself to study since 9am this morning and my brain still isn't articulating anything. I found it so hard to actually read one page. Now is when i need a lot of motivation and boost to study because my first exam is less than 48 hours away and after that i've got about 36 hours to prepare for my next two exams. It hasn't really been a good start today eventhough i woke up early so that i could get into the groove of studying. But it's just not working at all; my brain seems to be fighting with me and i'm not happy about it.

Annoying day

What an annoying way to start the week...it's 38 degrees celsius outside, fricking humid, i can't even concentrate long enough to study for my exams and i've got one on the 7th and two on the 9th. Plus i'm in a very bad mood. Everything is just pissing me off and irritating me. It's so hot that i couldn't even finish dinner because the heat alone was sickening. I really should have appreciated the British weather more when i was there. At least there's 4 freaking distinct seasons as opposed to Oz where all the seasons seem to be blended together. If you haven't figured it out by now, i really hate the hot weather. Not only does it make me sweaty and sticky, it makes me feel ill and i get cranky pretty easily. I absolutely hate shaving my legs and wearing short ensembles and the heat doesn't help me in that department at all. I think it is going to be another summer locked indoors for me because i'm not too keen on going out in shorts or a mini skirt especially since my thighs currently look like tree trunks. Did i mention my skin and the fact that it is currently going haywire and acting all crazy? Or the fact that i've had heart burn since yesterday for no apparent reason? Or the fact that i felt really faint working out yesterday morning because of the heat? I could go on and on but i won't. Hope you guys are having a much better day than i am.
